Me 2.0: Branding yourself online – CNN.com. – This is a great article about Personal Branding and you. I really believe personal branding is critical to expanding your professional life. The article makes a great point about how most professionals are really just numbers to an organization, either an employee number or an overhead cost on the accounting books. To separate yourself from the other “numbers”, one needs to promote their personal brand and do it highly visible fashion. While the article talks mainly about blogs, I would suggest Tweeting, having a correct Google Profile (for search) and using professional networking sites LinkedIn and Xing. There are many other ways to promote your brand but these are fundamental to your success.

Facebook, Twitter users beware: Crooks are a mouse click away – CNN.com. It is getting a bit scary out there. I have noticed on Twitter that most of the messaging is around marketing, get rich scams and misleading messages. it has definitely gotten worse the last couple of months. Tie that together with the need for Twitter to find a way to make money and you have to wonder where Twitter as a service is heading. It will be interesting to see how both Facebook and Twitter react to these issues. Stay tuned…

Can’t wait till 3.1 is released…it should be a highly sought after updae as push notifications is a natural for Facebook and social networking. Hopefully, it improve on the way ush notifications are working in other apps. Some of the push notifications used by other apps are weak in content and not useful. Well see, but anything is better than the nothing we have now for push notifications from Facebook.
